These are the five questions Miami-Dade families ask us most before they book Aventura Moving — about Florida licensing, flat-rate pricing, what the insurance really covers, who files the building COI, and local references. Here is exactly how we answer each one.
1. Are they licensed in Florida?
Florida requires intrastate movers to hold an IM# registration, and interstate moves require a USDOT number and MC authority. We hold both, and they print on every written quote we send — FL IM# plus US DOT/MC authority, no asking required.
2. Is the quote flat-rate or hourly?
Hourly quotes can balloon on move day. A written flat-rate quote locks the price based on your inventory, distance, and date. No fuel surcharges, no stair fees, no surprises at the door.
3. What does their insurance actually cover?
Basic carrier liability covers 60 cents per pound per item. That means a 50-pound TV is covered at $30. Full Value Protection typically runs 1-3% of your declared value but covers full replacement cost. On every quote we send, we spell out which option is included and exactly what upgrading to Full Value Protection costs, so there is no guessing.
4. Do they handle COI for your building?
Most Miami condos and HOAs require a Certificate of Insurance before a mover can use the freight elevator. Same-day COI matters for Miami high-rises. Our office files COI with destination buildings as part of every condo/tower booking, so the building clears our crew before move day.
5. Can you see recent reviews from your area?
That’s why we focus on Aventura and Sunny Isles high-rises — our crew runs freight-elevator moves at these buildings every week, so reservations, COIs, and loading-dock timing are second nature. Check our Reviews page for Aventura and Sunny Isles high-rise customer write-ups before booking us.
Asking these five questions before booking saves hours of frustration on move day. We answer all five up front on every quote — give us a call.
